A half inch band of yellow around the cartridge mouth indicates the color of the star, amber. The cartridge case is aluminum and can be reused. Original 37 mm flare cartridges are EXTREMELY RARE. U. S. issue 37 mm flare cartridges are compatible with British issue 1 inch flare pistols.
