This is an exceptional example of a genuine British Mark II "Desert Rat" steel helmet that is dated 1941 on the shell, and 1941 on the liner. The stamping on the underside of the rim reads: A. M. C II 1941 A. M. C. stands for Austin Motor Company, who produced Brodie helmets during the war in 1941 only. The chin strap clips are dated 1940 and 1941.
