Constructed of stamped olive drab steel; the obverse with a raised field with a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounded by the inscription GOTT MIT UNS (German God with us) on the top half, with a laurel wreath tied together at the base via a ribbon on the bottom half; with a soldered catch and a double prong spring bar; marked B&N 42 for Berg & Nolte on the reverse; measuring 63 mm (w)
