In 1874 the skirts were shortened to nine inches

the Regimental cloth badge of a "WINGED PARACHUTE" and the famous "PEGASUS FLYING HORSE" badge

The reverse is marked with LUDLOW / LONDON on the inside of the parachute

and the buckle slider and outer housing are completely correct

Government, Kinfolks produced only 119,702, and was definitely one of the minor contractors. The company still exists today, producing fine cutlery. This knife is early production, indicated by the maker information being stamped directly on the blade: U. S. M3
