Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Military Merit, I Class Cross (White Distinction) Archive soldiers and Indian chiefs(Orden del Mrito Militar). Instituted August 3, 1864. In bronze gilt, a white enamelled cross with central medallion featuring alternating lions and castilles in red in white quadrants with a central blue floral, the reverse medallion with a red enamelled MM (Merito Militare) monogram, surmounting royal crown, measures 34. 8 mm (w) x 47. 5 mm (h), worn on original ribbon, enamels intact, extremely fine.
