This is a very nice WWII German National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei NSDAP) First Pattern Flag Pole Finial or Topper (Fahnenstange Endstck). It is constructed of nickel plated brass alloy, possibly cast as one piece and then machine finished. The one piece construction means that parts could not be lost, and there are beveled screw holes on two sides of the socket
