Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by a banner with a raised inscription of FR VERDIENSTE IM FEUERLSCHWESEN (FOR MERIT IN FIRE FIGHTING), topped by a raised number of 25, with a central Saxon horse on a ribbed background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w)
