Germany, Heer. A Narvik Shield consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac red leatherette exterior marked with(Heer Narvikschild). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, symbolizing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger (Heer) respectively, topped by a date of 1940, an inscription of NARVIK, and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs and affixed to a replacement field grey wool backer indicating Heer
