Constructed of silvered tombak with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled medallion, overlaid by a raised Stahlhelm insignia, situated above a silvered date of 1920 topped by oak leaves, the reverse with a crimped hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, maker marked with the logo of Der Stahlhof,
