This is a very good example of a WWII M3 U. S. fighting knife, made by the desirable maker, W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co., in 1943. With the 1943 date and marking on the blade, this is a scarce 1st pattern, which we have very rarely seen. It comes complete in the correctly M8 scabbard, which was updated during the war to the M8A1 standard. These fighting knives were preferred by American infantry during World War Two
