The Yugoslavian M52 R (M52 P) is a High Explosive Fragmentation (HE Frag), hand grenade. The inside of the hand grenade is serrated for fragmentation. The M52 series represents the modernisation of the WW2 era technology utilising cast iron had grenade body construction. They all have identical body designs, with a grooved internal HE Frag surface. The fuze thread is reversed so that when the safety cap is unscrewed
