This is a lovely pair of fairly heavy "Feldfernsprecher" or "Field Telephones" that were in use by German Imperial Army signalers in the 2nd and 3rd line positions or at headquarters. The first such "Feldfernsprecher" was introduced between 1905 and 1910 and is referred to as "Feldfernsprecher alter Art". The next version of this "Old Model of Field Telephone" was the "Iron Field Telephone" of 1915. The
