Germany, Imperial. A First World War Patriotic Brooch consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac with fine twisted aluminum cord(Patriotische Brosche). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a silvered disc featuring knotted Germanic designs, topped by leaves featuring a green painted finish, in turn overlaid by a black enameled 1914 Iron Cross, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 41 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
