This is a lovely, well used D Day map of the Cherbourg and Cain areas of France. The map is dated 1943 and has a scale of 1: 250,000. The map belonged to Sergeant Kenneth E. Vermillion of the 959th Field Artillery Battalion. He landed on Omaha Beach after the initial invasion as part of the 1st Army, supported by the 2nd Armored Division and the 29th and 30th infantry divisions. He participated in the capture of
