Prior to our encounter I sort of thought they werent real, rather something exotic existing only in movies. I was 15, a Minnesota kid, visiting LA, and I felt like I was on another planet. I also remember interstates the size of Mercury, 7 elevens, and backyard pools about as common as kitchens. And now I get to paint those palm trees! 9"x12" acrylic paint and chalk pastel on high
