This is a 88" Pole Arm Spontoon with a 10" iron head of the type carried by German Mercenary Sergeants from an area of what is now Germany then known as "Brunswick-Wolfenbüttell" during the American Revolutionary War

The barrel has a small deer antler type back sight and a small blade fore sight

It is completely unmarked, and the quality of construction is a bit below the typical British and European made examples. We believe it was made in one of the European colonies, most likely in the Americas, and definitely would have been a useful piece of kit. These
