From 1939 onward, the standard issue US Army soft cap was the garrison cap. Also known as overseas cap, pisscutter, or sidecap. Although there were variations in the lining styles, the pattern was consistent throughout WW2. This is an original WWII issue wool garrison cap for wear with the Class A uniform. This garrison cap was issued to a medic as evident by the purple & white piping. The cap is roughly size 6.
