Victorian Japanese Menuki Cufflinks 9k/Silver c. 1870 lapis see photo on hand forLook at these great cufflinks made from Japanese menuki from the Meiji Period circa 1870's. Menuki are pairs of traditional ornamental sword fittings that would be placed under the binding on the handle of a katana and were commonly exported for use in jewelry in Europe during the Aesthetic Period of the late 1800's. The actual menuki pictured here may be as much as a century older, but the cufflinks were made in the mid to late 1800's. These menuki
