This is an unissued Bomb Release Switch for the U. S. WWII Consolidated B 24 Liberator. This is the switch that was placed on the B 24 bomber to allow bombs to be dropped on a target. It was the job of the bombardier to release the bombs when the target was sighted. Aluminum construction with hinged cover placed over toggle switch to offer protection from accidentally release of the payload. The cover is painted red
