Browning M1917 & M1917A1 water cooled Machine Gun Ammunition box. As originally constructed, these had a hinged lid with inset leather carry handle and spring loaded closing locking latch. This example still has the leather handle, however it has broken, and is in delicate condition. These were originally produced in plain wood finish, with OD green on the metal fittings, as
